Here is a list of ways you can get involved. There is a wide variety of jobs listed. We can fit volunteering into your schedule, contact Ashley if you are looking for a way to get involved.

- Box Tops and Labels
- Volunteers will cut, count and bundle Box Tops for Education, Soda Pop Tops, and Tyson’s A+ Program.
- Bricks 4 Kidz
- Volunteers will help students this Lego® program with a guided discussion about key concepts and building activities, including robotics, that involve specialized components and moving parts.
- Call Me Anytime!
- Works with everyone! Will support last minute events or when PTA Chairpersons/Officers need additional support.
- Community Outreach
- Works with the Community Outreach Chairperson to assist with community events such as Food Drive, Used Eyeglasses Drive, Winter Coat drive, etc.
- Computer Lab Volunteer
- Assist classroom teachers (K-2nd grade) during 30-minute computer lab time. Basic computer skills required.
- Directory
- Works with the Directory Chairperson to collect information, type, proofread and distribute the RAE School Directory.
- Donuts for Dads
- Helps the coordinator plan the event, procure donuts and drinks, publicize, decorate, serve, and organize clean up after breakfast.
- Fall Fundraiser
- Works to publicize collect forms & donations, process payments and help with incentives.
- Hands on Science, 1st – 5th Grade
- Perform science experiments with small groups of 1st – 5th graders! Schedule and experiment materials are provided by the Grade Level Hands on Science Coordinator.
- Hospitality
- Assist with teacher appreciation, treats, luncheons, baking and food preparation, PTA general meeting snacks and other events.
- Junior Achievement
- A program that exposes students to the concepts of business and societal responsibilities. Volunteers are needed to present 5 or 6 Junior Achievement lessons to RAE’s classrooms (one volunteer per classroom). All materials are provided; schedule is coordinated with the classroom teacher.
- Library Volunteer
- Works with the RAE PTA Library Chairperson to assist library staff with book circulation, shelving, check out and assisting children. Volunteers may also be needed for special projects requested by the librarian (e.g. Book Fair).
- Munchies for Moms
- Works with Coordinator to help plan this event, procure muffins and drinks, decorate, serve, and organize clean up after breakfast.
- Nominating Committee
- Reports to the PTA President and Principal to present nominees for RAE PTA office.
- Outdoor Beautification
- Works to enhance the entrance to the school by watering outside plants, minor maintenance of bed around flagpole, and possible other small beautification tasks.
- POWER
- Work with chairperson, Officer Michelle Owens and lead teacher to coordinate the 5th Grade POWER Graduation Ceremony. Duties include planning, preparing and working the event (decorations, refreshments and clean up).
- RAE Green Team
- Works with committee chair to organize educational events and promote “green” habits through reducing, reusing and recycling.
- Red Ribbon Week
- Works with Coordinator to organize and plan the daily events of the week-long celebration.
- Reflections Art Program
- Volunteers work with the RAE Reflections Coordinator to publicize the contest, collect entries, locate judges, display entries and recognize participants.
- School Store
- Works with Coordinator to sell spirit items/trinkets. Volunteers help children select items they want to purchase — a fun way to interact with students of all ages!
- School Supplies
- Works with Coordinator to distribute pre-purchased school supply packets to RAE’s classrooms before the Pre-Open House. Assists/organizes school supply purchases for the 2009-2010 school year.
- Specialties Workbasket
- Volunteers are needed to complete workbasket projects for Art, Music, PE, Special Education, Gifted/Talented, Challenge and other specialty areas.
- Spirit Items
- Works with Coordinator to order, distribute and sell spirit wear/items.
- StingRAE Bash
- Volunteers will help plan the event, assist with booths and concessions, sell ticket, and organize the Dad’’s Watch, Safety Committee and Prize Committee, and coordinate set up/take down. Great Fun!
- Teacher Appreciation Week
- Works with Hospitality Chairperson to plan Teacher Appreciation Week events and host the teacher appreciation luncheon.
- Treasurers Committee
- Assist PTA Treasurer with deposits at events involving receipts of cash and checks.
- Workroom Copies
- Works with the Workroom Coordinator to copy materials for teachers.
- Yearbook
- Works with the Yearbook Chairperson to collect or take photographs and create yearbook pages.
- Youth Protection
- Works with the Youth Protection Chairperson to assist with child safety issues, coordinate DARE activities and graduation ceremony, and provide assistance with the Katy Council of PTA’s Safety Day.
