Special Buddies Thank You!

The second rotation of Special Buddies came to an end and we would like to thank all students who participated in the program. We are so proud of their commitment and have enjoyed watching bonds being created between the buddies. Personally I want to thank Mrs Kimball for the best matching of the kids and all the support and help we had for the party and behind the scenes. Thank you!

The Volunteers In Public Schools (VIPS) Celebration salutes the time and talents of thousands of incredible volunteers who make up the heartbeat of our Partners in Education programs. Their contributions to our schools help make Katy ISD a sought-after school district not only for academic excellence but also for the enormous support from our parents' volunteers and community.

Save the date for this year's event. All volunteers are welcome.

Texas PTA Legislative Update

Texas PTA Rally Day was held in Austin on February 27th, when parents, students, and teachers from around the state advocate on behalf of Texas children.

The morning caucuses included presentations from elected officials and TEA administration. In the afternoon representatives from our RAE and community met with Representative Jacey Jetton, as well as legislative aides for Senators Huffman and Kolkhorst.

Topics of discussion included mental health, special education, and vouchers.

We encourage you to reach out yourself about the issues currently facing Texas public education.

One of the caucus speakers reported that he is receiving thousands of form-letter-style emails from people who don’t live in his district. We need to let our representatives know what constituents think.
