Texas PTA Update

Advocacy/Legislative update for March 28th, 2023

Texas PTA was well represented at the Capitol last week!

The Senate Education Committee hearing opened at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday March 22nd to packed main and overflow rooms. After roughly 13 hours, Suzi Kennon, President of Texas PTA testified against all vouchers.

You amplified her remarks by sending roughly 2,500 messages by email and social media platforms. In one collective voice, legislators on both sides of the aisle now are clear that No matter what you call them, Vouchers are bad for Texas children!

Thank you for your action! Stay tuned; the voucher conversation is just beginning.
